The well-being of women in childbirth and the right to give birth in freedom and dignity are sought. That is why the need arises to talk about obstetric violence and review its history to understand the phenomenon and protect the fundamental rights of women and minors in the world.In accordance with the above, this research is proposed, with which it is intended to study the history of obstetric violence, taking a journey from the origins of obstetrics to reach an understanding of the phenomenon in the world. For the development of this research, the analytical and descriptive methods were used, which allowed dividing the global concept, analyzing the historical, social and cultural factors that allowed its birth from obstetric violence, providing a detailed historical profile of the phenomenon. |

La violencia obstétrica es un tema que está a la orden del día a nivel mundial. Cada día aumenta la lucha de las mujeres buscando disminuir la violencia obstétrica como una forma de vulneración de derechos humanos de la mujer y su bebé, con el fin de reducir consecuencias como: muertes de las maternas o de los neonatales, daños irreparables en la salud reproductiva de las mujeres, daños psicológicos y traumatismos en el neonato, entre muchas otras. Se busca el bienestar de las mujeres en parto y el derecho a parir en libertad y dignidad. Es por ello que surge la necesidad de hablar de violencia obstétrica y hacer un repaso por su historia para entender el fenómeno y proteger los derechos fundamentales de las mujeres y los menores en el mundo. En concordancia con lo anterior se plantea la presente investigación, con la que se pretende estudiar la historia de la violencia obstétrica, realizando un recorrido desde los orígenes de la obstetricia para llegar al entendimiento del fenómeno en el mundo. Para el desarrollo de la presente investigación se utilizó el método analítico y el descriptivo que permitió hacer división del concepto global, analizar los factores históricos, sociales y culturales que permitieron su nacimiento de la violencia obstétrica, suministrando un perfil histórico detallado del fenómeno. A violência obstétrica é um tema que está na agenda mundial. A cada dia aumenta a luta das mulheres buscando diminuir a violência obstétrica como forma de violação dos direitos humanos da mulher e de seus bebês, a fim de diminuir consequências como: mortes maternas ou neonatais, danos irreparáveis à saúde reprodutiva da mulher, problemas psicológicos danos e traumatismos no recém-nascido, entre muitos outros. Busca-se o bem-estar das mulheres no parto e o direito de parir em liberdade e dignidade. Por isso surge a necessidade de falar sobre a violência obstétrica e rever sua história para compreender o fenômeno e proteger os direitos fundamentais das mulheres e menores no mundo.De acordo com o exposto, propõe-se esta pesquisa, com a qual se pretende estudar a história da violência obstétrica, fazendo um percurso desde as origens da obstetrícia para chegar a uma compreensão do fenômeno no mundo. Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, foram utilizados os métodos analíticos e descritivos, que permitiram dividir o conceito global, analisando os fatores históricos, sociais e culturais que permitiram seu nascimento a partir da violência obstétrica, proporcionando um perfil histórico detalhado do fenômeno.
