El presente caso permite profundizar en el conocimiento de estrategias corporativas en entornos multinacionales, por medio del estudio de la empresa Colombiana Carvajal S.A., la cual, refleja una armonía entre lo que quiere llegar a ser y lo que es. Así, su estrategia le ha permitido tomar mejores posiciones competitivas. Haciendo un seguimiento de su desarrollo histórico y a partir de información obtenida de la empresa y estudios previos realizados en la misma, se identifican y validan las estrategias de multinacionalización que ha implementado para ubicarse en un entorno mundial, se establecen cuáles han sido las competencias que la han hecho diferente y la destacan internacionalmente y se analiza la manera en que la empresa se ha alineado con los requerimientos mundiales de transparencia y el manejo de su gobierno corporativo.
