description | The objective of this research was to measure the impact of a digital narrative to facilitate the learning of fractions in elementary school children. The work had a quantitative approach and a deterministic sample was used, made up of 56 children distributed in two groups, who were studying in the 3rd year of primary education in the municipality of Durango, Mexico. The method was quasi-experimental, by applying pretest and posttest to an experimental group and a control group. The impact of the digital narrative was determined with the Student's t test for related samples and for independent samples. In the pretest, the experimental group showed greater difficulty in solving problems with fractional content, compared to the control group. After using the digital narrative, the experimental group improved their performance in the post-test, and there was no significant difference in the number of questions answered correctly, with respect to the control group. The latter indicates a positive and significant effect of digital storytelling on fraction learning. |

El objetivo de esta investigación consistió en medir el impacto de una narrativa digital para facilitar el aprendizaje de fracciones en niños de escuela primaria. El trabajo tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo y se utilizó una muestra de tipo determinístico, integrada por 56 niños distribuidos en dos grupos, que realizaban sus estudios de 3º de educación primaria en el municipio de Durango, México. El método fue de tipo cuasi-experimental, mediante la aplicación de pretest y postest a un grupo experimental y un grupo control. El impacto de la narrativa digital se determinó con la prueba t de Student para muestras relacionadas y para muestras independientes. En el pretest, el grupo experimental demostró mayor dificultad en la resolución de problemas con contenido fraccional, en comparación con el grupo control. Luego de emplear la narrativa digital, el grupo experimental mejoró su rendimiento en el postest, y no hubo diferencia significativa en la cantidad de reactivos contestados de manera correcta, con respecto al grupo control. Esto último indica un efecto positivo y significativo de la narrativa digital en el aprendizaje de fracciones.
