This document evaluates de degree of competitiveness of five dairy companies in Sincelejo, Colombia through a case study that applied a questionnaire inspired in the functional areas of the enterprise. The questionnaire inquired on elements in the following categories: production, marketing, finances, administration and human talent. We conclude that the level of competitiveness of the analyzed companies is low where the components of production, administration and human talent, have a better performance compared to marketing and finance.

Las empresas de la agroindustria láctea se encuentran en el medio de fuerzas competitivas que afectan su estrategia y supervivencia. Por ende deben construir ventajas competitivas sostenibles que se conviertan en motor de crecimiento y desarrollo. Para tal fin, es necesario partir de una línea base que analice su presente y de esta forma permita definir las estrategias a seguir. El objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar el grado de competitividad de cinco empresas lecheras de Sincelejo por medio de un estudio de caso que aplicó un cuestionario inspirado en las áreas funcionales de la empresa. Éste indagó por elementos en las categorías: producción, mercadeo, finanzas, y administración-talento humano. Como resultado, se concluyó que el grado de competitividad de las empresas analizadas es bajo, donde los componentes de producción y administración-talento humano son de mejor comportamiento comparados con mercadeo y finanzas.
