Summary: | This paper analyzes the effect of trade opening on manufacturing output, being noticed that this process caused a structural change in industrial exports and imports, creating a difference in the behavior of these after the nineties. Therefore, with the econometric exercise of panel data was possible to deduce that the impact on manufacturing output was higher after opening compared to previous years, and this led to the conclusion that given the existing conditions of deindustrialization, the opening contributed to deepen this decline, demonstrating a lower production in the subsectorsthat generate high added value.
